Fighting Food Insecurity Around The Appalachian Region

Food insecurity hits particularly hard in the Appalachian region of the United States. The Open Road Apostolic Ministry is a Catholic organization dedicated to combatting this epidemic of hunger, and preserving the inherent worth and dignity of all people in this region. This includes four of the most marginalized groups in the United States - the homeless, those in poverty, those affected by natural disasters, and the unborn. In our Catholic Faith, we are called to serve those in need, using the gifts bestowed upon us by the Holy Spirit. We call ourselves the Open Road Apostolic Ministry because we wish to provide a path forward for those who might not otherwise have one. We do this work with the aid of the Church, rescue missions, food pantries, homeless shelters, and our Lord Jesus Christ, our higher authority.
